In 2023, our daughter, Freya, entered this world far earlier than we ever expected. She was born at just 24 weeks gestation, beginning a journey that would test her strength, our family, and everyone who stood beside us in ways we could never have imagined.

From the very beginning, Freya had to fight.

During her time in the hospital, she experienced two brain bleeds and underwent two eye surgeries. She spent approximately five months in the hospital’s NICU, surrounded by doctors, nurses, therapists, machines, and countless people working around the clock to give her the opportunity to come home.

For five months, the NICU was her world.

And then, finally, we got to bring our little girl home.

But coming home wasn't the end of Freya's journey. It was only the beginning of another chapter.

After leaving the hospital, Freya spent approximately two and a half years going through physical therapy and occupational therapy. Through all of it, she continued to fight, learn, grow, and prove just how strong she was.

Freya was eventually diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.

That diagnosis changed some of the challenges we knew she would face, but it never changed who she was.

Freya is a fighter.

Today, she continues to work toward doing the things many people take for granted. She continues with her therapies, continues learning, continues growing, and continues pushing herself every day. Our goal isn't to make her life look exactly like everyone else's. Our goal is to give her every opportunity possible to live the fullest, happiest, most independent life she can.

That is where the Freya Shieldmaiden Collection comes from.

The shieldmaiden represents strength, courage, and the willingness to keep fighting when the road ahead isn't easy. For us, it represents Freya.

She has been fighting since the moment she was born.

The green ribbon represents Cerebral Palsy awareness, while the footprints and heart represent the smallest fighters who begin their lives in the NICU and the families who stand beside them.

This collection is more than clothing.

It is a way to tell Freya's story.

It is a way to honor the doctors, nurses, therapists, and caregivers who helped her get to where she is today.

It is a way to recognize the countless NICU families who know what it feels like to spend days, weeks, or months waiting and praying for their child to come home.

And most importantly, it is a way to help other families who are walking a road similar to ours.
